The Berkeley College New Jersey men's soccer team started its 2025 campaign in convincing fashion this past weekend, picking up a pair of road victories over Penn State New Kensington by a score of 6-0, and Penn State Greater Allegheny, 2-0. While the Knights are now 2-0 to begin the season, both aforementioned Penn State squads are 0-1.

In the Knights' victory over New Kensington back on August 29, Berkeley did most of its scoring in the second half. Berkeley held a slim 1-0 advantage after 45 minutes of play, before breaking the match open in the second half, peppering five goals into the net.
Veteran Steven Urbes led the way for Berkeley, as he scored a match-high two goals on the afternoon. The other four tallies came off the feet of Hector Castro, Gabriel Borges, Kyler Driggs, and Alex Rodrigues. Newcomer Emmanuel Guevara Mercado registered a pair of assists, with the other four helpers coming from Elvin Rios, Samuel Gomez, Derick Yancha, and Emmanuel Garzon.
Knights netminder Jack Giannini earned a shutout in the net, facing only two shots and stopping them both. Berkeley College dominated the match in terms of opportunities, outshooting the opposition by a count of 20-2.
Berkeley College-NJ 2, Penn State Greater Allegheny 0
Less than 24 hours after dominating New Kensington, the Knights earned another victory in what was a much more competitive match, defeating Penn State Greater Allegheny by a score of 1-0.
Berkeley College scored a goal per half in its triumph. Bryson Strohecker scored an unassisted goal at the 35 minute mark, before Christopher Andrade added the other tally, an insurance goal, in the 77th.
Giannini earned his second shutout in as many days, turning aside three shots in doing so. Berkeley outshot Greater Allegheny 24-7 on the afternoon.

Berkeley College will open its home portion of the schedule on Wednesday evening, September 10, taking on Bloomfield College in an NACIA contest. The match will take place at Hinchcliffe Stadium, with a start-time of 9:00pm.
