The Berkeley College men's basketball team put forth a 2-4 record in recent contests, as the Knights picked up victories against Bryant & Stratton-Rochester (83-79 on December 20) and Villa Maria (101-66 on January 10), while falling to Bloomfield (107-933 on December 18), Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse (94-83 on December 19), Penn State York (101-89 on January 7), and Bryant & Stratton-Buffalo (81-79 on January 11). With that aforementioned output, the Knights are now 6-10 on the 2025-2026 campaign, including a mark of 2-3 in the NACIA.
December 18, 2025: Bloomfield 107, Berkeley 93
In Berkeley College's loss to Bloomfield College, DeMarco Watson posted team-highs of 27 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, while also leading all players with three steals. Jesse Taylor finished with 20 points, five rebounds, and four dimes, and Justyce Coleman finalized his evening with 12 points and eight rebounds.
The Bears were paced by Cameron McRae, as he netted a game-high 33 points to go along with seven assists and three rebounds. Additionally, Zamorian Singleton finalized his evening with 22 points, eight rebounds, and two assists, and Marcus Bucknall posted a double-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and three dimes. Finally, Na'Shawn Jones added 14 points and four boards.
Bloomfield College held a 57-45 advantage at halftime, and maintained that edge throughout the game's final 20 minutes, outscoring Berkeley 50-48 in the final session to account for the 14-point margin of victory (107-93).
The Bears earned a conversion rate of 51.9 percent (41-79), also shooting 40.6 percent from downtown (12-2), and connecting on 12 of 17 shots from the free throw line (70.6 percent). On the flip side, Berkeley earned a 44 percent conversion rate (33-75), draining 10 of 28 shots from beyond-the-arc (35.7 percent). The Knights also drilled 17 of 25 freebees on the evening (68 percent).
Bloomfield College held a 44-35 edge on the glass, while also dishing 26 assists to Berkeley's 16. The Bears swatted three shots for the game, while Berkeley had zero, and the Knights swiped eight steals compared to five for the visitors. Berkeley also won the turnover battle, committing just 10 miscues, while Bloomfield finished with 12.
January 7, 2026: Penn State York 101, Berkeley 89
Prior to Berkeley's clash with Penn State York, the Knights split a pair of road NACIA contests, falling to Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse by a score of 94-83, before bouncing back to beat Bryant & Stratton Rochester in a thriller, 83-79.
In the Knights' loss to the Nittany Lions, Berkeley was paced by Watson, as he connected on 13 of his 22 attempts from the floor to finish with a game-high 33 points. He also collected seven rebounds and dished a team-best five assists. Deontay Sprattley nearly posted a double-double, scoring 17 points, snatching nine rebounds, and dishing three assists, and Yasin Adur-Rashid and Justin Umunake netted 16 and 10 points, respectively.
Four of Penn State York's five starters scored 15 points or more, including John Godinez, as he drained nine of his 13 shot attempts, and nine of his 10 freebees, to finish with a game-high 27 points. Additionally, he compiled seven assists on the night. Terrell Neal added 20 points, nine rebounds, and a blocked shot, and Tony Benkovic added 17 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Finally, it was James Barlow contributing 15 points and snatching a game-high nine rebounds.
In what was a very competitive opening 20 minutes of basketball, the Knights trailed by six (13-7) in the early stages, Berkeley battled back and was able to snatch a 50-44 advantage as the teams broke for halftime. Neither squad held more than a six point advantage, leaving the contest up for grabs.
Penn State York would take the lead, 58-57, on a drained Benkovic field goal with 14:45 remaining in the game. The hosts would go on to score 14 of the ensuing 18 points to take an 11-point edge (72-61) with 11:35 left. The Knights refused to let the game get away, though, as Berkeley put together a 13-3 run over a span of 2:54 to inch to within one, 75-74. Watson led the charge for the Knights during that aforementioned run with eight points.
Shortly later, Berkeley trailed 79-74, before rattling off six straight points (courtesy of a Watson bucket, and two consecutive baskets by Abdur-Rashid) to catapult ahead, 80-79, with 6:33 to go. Unfortunately for Berkeley, Penn State York would turn up the collective voltage from there, as the hosts closed out the game on a 22-9 run, winning the game by 12.
The Nittany Lions shot 51.5 percent from the floor (35-68), while also making the most of their opportunities from the free throw line (27-36, 75 percent). Berkeley also shot the ball very well, earning a conversion rate of 43 percent (34-79), and hitting 15 of 21 from the line (71.4 percent).
The Knights lost the game despite out-rebounding the opposition 33-27. Penn State York held a 26-15 edge in assists, and the hosts also won the turnover battle, committing just eight miscues, while Berkeley finished with 14.
January 10, 2026: Berkeley 101, Villa Maria 66
In the Knights' blowout victory over the Vikings, six players scored in double figures, including Abdur-Rashid, as he finished with a team-high 17 points, game-highs of 10 steals and six assists, and three rebounds. Additionally, Watson netted 16 points, collected six rebounds, and dished three assists, and newcomer Emmanuel Mayfield scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds. Sprattley registered 15 points, a game-high nine rebounds, six assists, and three steals, and Dimitry Hayes contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, five steals, and two assists. Finally, it was Umunakwe finishing with 11 points and four rebounds.
Despite the loss for the Vikings, Bryan Adams posted a double-double with a game-high 27 points to go along with 12 rebounds and a team-high four steals. Jordan David-Lewis contributed 16 points, three rebounds, and three assists, and it was Jeremiah Clarke posting a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
The Knights held a very modest 37-34 advantage at the break, before blowing the game wide open in the second half, doubling-up the Vikings 64-32 in the final 20 minutes of action to account for the 35-point margin of victory (101-66).
Berkeley College held a slightly better shooting percentage, connecting on 42 of 105 attempts (40 percent), compared to a 37.3 percent conversion rate for the visitors (25-67). Villa Maria out-rebounded Berkeley 59-50, but the Knights dominated the assists column, registering 21 dimes compared to nine for the Vikings. Berkeley swiped 23 steals, while the visitors had seven, and Villa Maria swatted four shots to Berkeley's one. The Knights won the turnover battle by a wide margin, committing just 17 miscues, while Villa Maria had 45.
January 11, 2026: Bryant & Stratton (Buffalo) 81, Berkeley 79
In Berkeley's tough defeat against the Bobcats, Watson registered game-highs of 31 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Additionally, Umunakwe finalized his evening with 18 points and five rebounds, and Abdur-Rashid and Sprattley scored 16 and 12 points, respectively. Abdur-Rashid also added seven boards, four dimes, and two steals, and Sprattley contributed four rebounds and two assists.
Four players scored in double figures for Bryant & Stratton (Buffalo), including Massai Graham, as the standout scored a team-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds. TaRon Benton contributed 16 points and six rebounds while tying for the team-high of four assists, and Galen Waters netted 14 points, tied for the team-high of four assists, and pulled down three rebounds. Finally, it was Terrian Wester just missing out on a double-double, as he scored 12 points, snatched nine rebounds, dished two assists, and swatted a pair of shots.
Berkeley College trailed by six points at the half (42-36), and outscored the visitors 43-39 in the second session, coming up just two points short of a win.
The Bobcats earned a conversion rate of 45.9 percent on the day (28-61), while also connecting on 19 of their 31 attempts at the line (61.3 percent). On the flip side, the Knights earned a conversion rate of 40.8 percent (29-71), while shooting 60 percent from the stripe (12-20).
Bryant & Stratton (Buffalo) held a modest 43-37 edge on the boards, and each team dished 15 assists. The visitors held slim edges in steals (6-4) and swatted shots (4-2), and the Bobcats won the turnover battle, committing just 10 miscues, while the Knights finished with 11.
