The Berkeley College men's basketball team dropped a pair of contests in recent games, falling to the University of Maine-Augusta 87-86 on November 14, and losing to Central Maine Community College 90-81 on November 15. With that aforementioned output, Berkeley is now 0-4 on the 2025-2026 campaign.
November 14, 2025: Moose 87, Knights 86
Despite the loss for Berkeley, DeMarco Watson led the way, scoring a team-high 22 points (9-13 FG) to go along with seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Yasin Abdur-Rashid contributed 14 points, dished five assists, and swiped three steals, and Justin Umunakwe finalized his evening with 13 points, six boards, and two assists. Finally, Noah Laro connected on three triples to finish with 11 points, while also collecting three boards.
Khalif Bettis posted a double-double for the University of Maine at Augusta, as he scored a team-high 21 points while snatching a game-best 13 rebounds. His five assists also led all players, and he swiped two steals, as well. Simon Allen added 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists, and Keith Sharp finalized his evening with 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Finally, it was Aviyon Matthews scoring 10 points, grabbing six rebounds, and dishing three assists.
Berkeley College led for the entire first half, save for 66 seconds. The Knights trailed 7-5, but took an 8-7 advantage on a converted trifecta by Watson. Later in the half, Berkeley had a nine point advantage at one point, but it was cut to four, 34-30, with 5:47 left in the session. The Knights then put together a 10-2 run over a span of 2:49 to take a commanding 44-32 advantage with under three minutes left in the half. Maurece Thompson and Josiah Mitchener each drained triples during that aforementioned run. The pendulum then swung towards the Moose, as the University of Maine at Augusta closed the half on a 10-0 run to close to within two, 44-42, as time expired on the opening session.
The Knights held a 46-42 advantage 37 seconds into the second half, but the Moose put together a 25-9 run over a span of 9:12 to catapult ahead by a score of 67-55. Bettis led the charge during that aforementioned run with eight points. Later, with 7:29 left, Keith Sharp connected on a pair of free throws to give his team its biggest lead of the game up to that point, a 15-point edge (73-58).
Berkeley refused to quit, as consecutive three-point baskets by Abdur-Rashid, and one by Laro, brought the Knights to within six (73-67) with 5:53 left. The visitors continued to chip away, eventually pulling to within twice on two occasions (84-83 and 87-86). Berkeley had three possessions in which it could have taken the lead, including one final one that featured Laro missing a three-point attempt at the buzzer. The Moose held on for the thrilling one-point victory.
The Knights lost the game despite shooting a higher percentage than the Moose, as Berkeley connected on 44.6 percent of its attempts (29-65), while the University of Maine at Augusta earned a 41.3 percent conversion rate. Both teams were excellent from the stripe, with the Moose hitting on 85 percent of its attempts (17-20), and the Knights draining 75 percent of theirs (15-20). The University of Maine at Augusta held advantage in rebounds (48-34), steals (16-9), and assists, and each team registered a block. The Moose won the turnover battle, committing just 17 miscues, while Berkeley had 23.
November 15, 2025: Mustangs 90, Knights 81
DeMarco Watson led the way for Berkeley in its loss to Central Maine, as he scored a game-high 30 points (9-15 FG) to go along with seven rebounds, a game-high six steals, and a team-best five assists. Jesse Taylor also played well for the Knights, as he scored 16 points and dished three assists, and Abdur-Rashid connected on three triples to finish with 11 points and five assists. Finally, it was Dashawn Koromah connecting on five of his eight attempts from the floor to finish with 10 points.
Central Maine was paced by Javion Jacobs, as he connected on eight of his 13 attempts from the floor, and all six of his free throw attempts, to finish with a team-high 22 points. He also collected four rebounds while swiping three steals. Khaden Moore posted a double-double with 21 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals, and Creighty Dickson and Will Duke netted 14 points apiece. Dickson also added eight assists and seven rebounds, and Duke piled a game-high 12 assists while collecting four boards.
Berkeley led for just 39 seconds the entire contest, as Watson's converted triple gave the Knights a 3-2 advantage. Central Maine snatched the lead back when Dickson nailed a three point shot to make it 5-3 Mustangs. Shortly later, with the contest knotted at five apiece, the hosts put together a 13-0 run over a span of 4:39 to take an 18-5 lead. Moore contributed seven points during that run, while Jacobs added six.
Dickson's jumper with 2:44 remaining in the half gave the Mustangs their largest lead of the game, a 40-21 advantage, but a 10-4 spurt to close the period brought Berkeley to within 13 (44-31) after 20 minutes of action.
The second half proved to be an uphill battle for the Knights as well, as Berkeley trailed by as many as 17 at one point (59-42), but the Knights battled and clawed to eventually inch to within six (84-78) with 2:06 to go. Unfortunately for Berkeley, it was only able to convert on one more field goal the rest of the way, eventually losing the contest by nine points.
The Mustangs shot a blistering 52.9 percent from the floor (37-70), while the Knights earned a conversion rate of 42.6 percent (29-68). Central Maine hit all nine of its free throw attempts (100 percent), while Berkeley nailed 14 of 20 (70 percent). The hosts dominated in multiple categories, including rebounding (41-27) and assists (34-19), while Berkeley swiped nine steals compared to eight for Central Maine. The Knights also held a 3-1 edge in blocks, and Berkeley won the turnover battle, committing just 15 miscues compared to 21 for the home team.

Berkeley will return to action on Monday evening, as the Knights will travel to Sharon, PA to take on Penn State Shenango. Start-time for the contest is scheduled for 6:30pm.
